I had an idea to photograph people holding signs asking for money. The idea being that everyone is a salesperson. After I started doing it, I wasn’t so sure about the value of the idea. I do like the look of the images taken with the Aero Ektar f2.5 lens (circa 1940’s) on my 1955 Speed Graphic 4×5 camera. The image was taken on Polaroid T55 film — also a favorite of mine. Last month Polaroid announced that it was ceasing ALL instant film production this year. It borke my heart. There is a look you can get with Polaroid that is just not possible any other way. Polaroid did say that it was offering licensing rights to other companies that might want to start producing its films. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
