I am professional photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I have over 15 years experience in this field working in diverse genres from  photojournalism to wedding photography. In 2014 I became the staff photographer for Oregon Business Magazine. My photography has also been featured in many publications including The Oregonian, The Willamette Week, The Mercury, The Portland Monthly and The Sentinel.

Originally from the East Coast, I attended college at the New School of Social Research before moving to Missoula, Montana, where I attended U of M. There I studied photography and constantly photographed the world around me. This is when I discovered my fascination with environmental portraiture and my love of photography began.

I use both digital and traditional film techniques. Therefore digital darkroom skills are an extension of my traditional darkroom experience. Passionate about the craft of photography, I use all the tools available to my profession in order to create the highest quality images while documenting the story. My camera is my passport to experience. I am able to meet people, go places and understand things I would never have been exposed to otherwise.

Most of all I believe my greatest skill is to be able to get the shot without getting in the way. I love to work in a documentary style, keeping a low-profile and always respecting my subjects and their stories. My greatest influences are Henri Cartier-Bresson, Weegee, Margaret Burke White and David Burnett. In the end it is my curiosity that guides me.
